The HobbyZone^® Sport Cub S 2 makes learning to fly RC airplanes in more places and smaller spaces easier than ever! Based on one of the most popular trainer aircraft ever designed for learning to fly radio controlled (RC) airplanes—the legendary Sport Cub S—its ultra-micro size makes it the ideal choice for a smaller trainer model that can be flown in large yards, parks, soccer fields, and other suitable spaces where larger models can't typically be flown successfully by first-time pilots. It's also a scale model of the popular Carbon Cub by CubCrafters, an upgraded and thoroughly modern iteration of the classic Super Cub. Best of all, it's equipped with Horizon Hobby's exclusive and innovative SAFE^® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology that helps to prevent overcontrol, loss of orientation and crashes so nearly everyone can learn to fly successfully! Beginner, Intermediate, and Experienced modes allow you to choose the level of stability and control you need, or are ready to try, at the flip of a switch. Plus you can instantly return to stable flight using Panic Recovery in any flight mode! This makes the Sport Cub S 2 a natural evolution of the trainer many pilots learned to fly with because it includes all of the same great features, while also adding telemetry capabilities that send flight battery voltage to the transmitter to make the pilot better aware of approximately how much "power" remains while flying.

And the fun doesn't stop after you learn how to fly! Its lightweight yet durable airframe is equipped with a powerful electric motor that delivers long flight times and provides plenty of speed and power to perform aerobatic maneuvers including loops, rolls, and even inverted (upside down) flight. That means the Sport Cub S 2 is a model even experienced pilots will appreciate and enjoy flying – and can also use to teach others to fly. You can even install the optional float set (sold separately) to add large pools, small ponds, and lakes to the list of places you can fly!

The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) version includes everything needed to fly in one box and is a perfect choice if you're a new RC pilot. From the Spektrum MLP6DSM 2.4GHz controller/transmitter and the AA batteries for it, to the 1S 150mAh rechargeable LiPo (Lithium Polymer) battery and a convenient USB charger that can be used with a variety of USB power sources, there's nothing extra you need to buy or provide! A Bind-N-Fly^® (BNF) Basic version is also available for experienced pilots who want to use their favorite Spektrum DSMX/DSM2-equipped transmitter along with batteries and chargers they may already own.

The RTF version also includes a Steam^® key to download and activate a trial version of the RealFlight^® Trainer Edition RC flight simulator. The simulator features many of the most popular Horizon Hobby trainer airplanes and helicopters, including the Sport Cub S, and built-in Virtual Flight Instructor lessons. This helps new pilots learn to fly successfully by practicing on a desktop PC at home or on a laptop just about anywhere else! Simply use a USB-C cable (not included) to connect the included MLP6DSM controller/transmitter to a compatible USB port on your computer to fly for up to 100 minutes. Then you can purchase RealFlight Trainer Edition or "full edition" Evolution to fly any time and for as long as you'd like!

Ready-To-Fly Convenience

This Ready-To-Fly (RTF) version includes a controller/transmitter equipped with Spektrum^™ DSMX^® 2.4GHz technology and everything else you need to fly including AA batteries for the transmitter, a rechargeable lithium polymer battery for the airplane and a USB charger. That means there's nothing extra to buy or provide so you can fly! The included transmitter can also be used with other ultra-micro/UMX (Ultra Micro eXtreme) Bind-N-Fly^® (BNF) RC aircraft. Plus, it can be used with the included trial version of the RealFlight Trainer Edition RC flight simulator!

RealFlight Included

RealFlight is the #1 RC flight simulator in the world, and the Trainer Edition includes many of the most popular Horizon Hobby trainer aircraft from Blade^®, HobbyZone^®, and E-flite^® – including the Sport Cub S. Durable Design

Construction with advanced EPS material delivers a lightweight yet durable airframe. And in the unfortunate event you damage any airframe parts or components and can't repair them, a full line of replacement/spare parts is readily available.

Optional Floats

Turn the Sport Cub S 2 into a float plane with the optional float set (sold separately). Installation takes just a few minutes, and all the necessary hardware is included with the airplane and float set.

Skill Level 1 – No Experience Required

Skill Level 1 "trainer" aircraft are perfect for beginners and first-time RC (Radio Controlled) pilots because no prior experience is required to fly them!
